Benefiting from support

Michelle is in Year 10. She attends a mainstream school and uses support from learning support assistants to help her with theory work that involves reading and writing. Her specific learning and communication difficulties mean that she finds these activities particularly challenging.

Hard-working and determined, Michelle is aiming for a career in catering and hospitality. She'd like to run a bar in the future and she's chosen options that will help her with this. She's studying for a food technology GCSE and spends one day a week at college doing the ABC Level 1 Certificate in Hospitality. Post-16, she plans to study catering at college where she'll continue to receive support with theory work.
