Daniel is in Year 9 and has chosen to do the Creative and Media Diploma in Years 10 and 11 alongside GCSEs in mathematics, science, English and history.
Daniel has always been interested in the film and media industry and he can see that the Diploma will help him to develop the creative use of language as well as improving his ICT skills, in addition to learning more specialist computer skills such as animation.
Daniel will be able to study all aspects of media. He is particularly looking forward to watching a TV commercial being filmed in a local studio and then using this to write his own promotion for an event commissioned by the local council.
Daniel's father works in the TV and film industry and fully supports the choice of a Diploma course. He can see that it will be of real benefit not only in this area of employment, but also because it provides a broad-based education when combined with functional skills and GCSEs.
"I've always liked the idea of being a film or programme maker; to see a script developed from paper to being on screen."
