
David already has a law career idea in mind and has looked into what subjects he would need to do after Year 11 to be able to go on to study law at university.
'I have done some research and found out that to study law universities generally are looking for people who can offer a mixture of A Levels and you don't necessarily need to have studied law at A Level.'
David's advice is that if you know what career area you want to go into it is a good idea to do some research first to check what subjects may be useful or perhaps even required. If you don't know what you want to do, then taking a broad range of subjects will keep your options open.
'I've decided to take mostly academic subjects in the sixth form and have chosen mathematics, English and history. But I also wanted a bit of variety, so I have also chosen drama too, which I enjoy.'
"I found out that universities quite often look for people with high A Level grades, so I have chosen to study subjects I know I am good at."
