Deciding between college and sixth form

Harry's predicted to get A* grades at GCSE. He plans to take A Levels post-16 and go to university in the future.

When choosing his post-16 options, Harry had to decide whether to study at the local college or one of the sixth forms. He visited them all, talked to staff and students, researched the subjects he could do and looked at how well previous students had done. Then he discussed the pros and cons of each place with his Connexions personal adviser.

Harry decided that sixth form would suit him better than college. He liked the smaller environment, the support available and the teaching style used. His advice to people who find themselves in the same situation is, 'Go and visit as many places as possible so that you can compare them. Think about how you learn and where would suit you best.'
