Getting around by public transport

What you need to know

Getting around by public transport allows you to plan your own time without having to rely on other people for lifts. But plan your journey before you set off and make sure you have enough money for the fares there and back.

What can you do

  • Work out what form of public transport will suit you best. If you can, find out how much the fare will be and make sure you know how you're going to get from the station or stop to where you want to be.
  • Use the websites linked from this page to help you plan out your journey. If your journey involves using two buses or trains, or a combination of both, make sure you catch the first early enough to make the second.
