Inter Railing

What you need to know

An Inter Rail pass is a flexible and affordable way to travel around Europe. The pass is 2nd class and gives you the option to visit different countries or 'zones' for varying lengths of time. It doesn't matter how old you are, there are no age restrictions but your age will affect the price you pay.

Once you have bought your Inter Rail pass you can travel on trains throughout the countries you have chosen as often as you like. The length of time you can travel depends on how much you have paid for your pass. This can be anything from 16 days, 22 days or one month.

What you can do

  • Decide what countries you want to visit.
  • Decide the length of time you want to spend travelling.
  • Visit the official Inter Rail website, any mainline train station or travel agent to find out current price information.

You can buy an Inter Rail pass at the following outlets:

  • Main railway stations.
  • Online at the Rail Europe Travel Centre at www.raileurope.co.uk/inter-rail/index.htm.
  • Selected travel agents (around 60 throughout the UK).
  • Call Rail Europe Direct on 08705 848 848.
