Dealing with Bullies

What you need to know

You don't have to accept bullying. Some young people try to accept bullying as a way of life and try to carry on despite this cruel behaviour, but trying to ignore it doesn't always work.

What you can do

If you want to beat the bullies some of the best things for you to try are:

  • Tell someone you trust - what about a teacher, parent, carer or friend?
  • Try to ignore the person bullying you.
  • Try and stay in a group and avoid going places by yourself, that way you are not such an easy target.
  • Make sure that your body language is confident and stand tall.
  • Keep a diary of what happens, who was involved, when it was and what they did.
Advisers are here between 8am and 2am. Talk to us in confidence >>
