Eczema

What you need to know

Eczema affects the skin making it drier than usual which can develop into sore, itchy patches.

It affects both children and adults - as many as 1 in 5 school children and 1 in 12 adults in Britain suffer from eczema.

Hot weather, getting overtired or feeling stressed, worried or anxious about something can cause eczema to flare up.

You can not catch eczema from another person.

What you can do

  • If you think you have eczema go and see your doctor.
  • Try to keep your stress levels down.
  • Try to find out what triggers the outbreaks.
  • Keep your skin moisturised.
  • Above all try not to scratch.
