Bad smells

What you need to know

If you are worrying about bad smells you shouldn't - they are a common problem in adults and young people and there are things you can do to help.

You will become more aware of how your body smells as changes occur during puberty.

What you can do

There are lots of things you can do to help prevent bad smells

  • Wash regularly and change into clean clothes.
  • Think about the things you are eating.
  • Visit your doctor or dentist for advice.
  • Use deodorants, antiperspirants and body sprays.
  • Always allow your shoes time to air.
  • Use talcum powder on your feet to try to keep sweating down to a minimum.
  • Make sure you floss between your teeth.
  • Drink lots of water and brush your teeth after every meal.

Remember everyone sweats and has bad breath - you just need to know how to manage it by keeping as clean as possible by washing, brushing and flossing!

Advisers are here between 8am and 2am. Talk to us in confidence >>
